  so Henry Owens makes first team ALL CIF but doesnt make fryers first or second team all county. And the pitchers named ahead of him on the second team dont even make all cif......I guess if you beat mater dei in the playoffs u are banned from fryers all county team........pretty emabarassing for the registers baseball staff. Next year try to be legit and have some integrity with your selections.....

  During this entire baseball season I have made a tremendous effort to be positive and not bash anybody...except Cougar Den, of course. That being said...I really think baseball lover has a good point. Too bad...maybe Fryer is a curse! We'll just keep Chargin on!

    I agree with baseball lover. I also don't agree with the registers picks. How does the catcher from Newport Harbor High not make first or second team? His name is Blake Davey and he happened to hit a rather large home run off of your pick Henry Owens in a 13-5 win over Edison. He also hit one off of Beau Wright who was first team all cif last year and an Aflac all american. In fact, he hit three off of Los Alamitos in two games. This catcher batted .429 with a .929 slugging percentage and he had a .610 OBP with 7 homeruns. If you actually checked maxpreps.com you would find that his hitting statistics are superior to any other division 1 catcher in the southern section. And if you didn't want to base it off of hitting maybe you could get out to a game and watch him behind the plate. I don't exactly have a lot of time to go through all of the other picks that I disagree with but I think that the previously established one was significant enough.

  and you probably should have taken a look at Donald Sneed from Edison he is pretty good as well.

  How can you not put Eric Snyder of Edison on the team?
  He was 11 for 19 4 doubles a triple one homerun 2 walks
  and stellar defense play in the outfield? what a joke for not voting
  for him. If matzek would of given him something to hit Edison would of won CIF!

  To me it looks like who ever did good in the playoffs was picked! Not alot of season research as the coaches scrambled to figure out who everyone was!! Needless to say the 09' class was one of the strongest in memory. Definitely the strongest classes EVER in HUNTINGTON BEACH history!!! 2010 class just as strong, then a possible drop!!

  The "Legend" receives yet another Coach of the Year Award. And like a true players manager he gives all the credit to his young student athletes. Congrats Coach Z!!!!!!
