
The South defeated the North, 25-18, 25-23, 15-11, in the girls all-star game at Newport Harbor High.
University’s Bojana Tendorvic was named the Most Outstanding Player. The setter/outside hitter is heading to UCLA in the fall.
The South led 19-18 in Game 1 before closing it out on a 6-0 run. The South went in front 11-6 to start Game 2. It held a 24-20 advantage, but the North pulled to 24-23 to make interesting.
The South was up 12-11 in the final game and ended the match on 3-0 run.
“I think it was a great game,” Tendorvic said. “It was really intense. I loved it.”
