I'm heading to The Register's athlete/coaches of the year recognition dinner tonight. I'll snap a few photos to share, so please check back here Wednesday.
Mariah Nogueira should have won the female athlete of the year award. The girl from Foothill has some great credentials in one sport, basketball. Mariah dominated in TWO sports. A FIRST TEAM RISE/ESPN ALL AMERICAN and Addidas Scholar ALL AMERICAN in soccer. All CIF Division 1. The Sunset League Athlete of the Year. Sunset MVP in soccer and softball!!!!!!!!!!!
All County in soccer and softball. No other athlete has a resume like this.
I would just like to thank the Register for hosting the "Recognition Dinner" to award many talented athletes and coaches. It was a great honor for my children and I, along with my good friend Dave Mikesell to be able to attend this special event. Dan Albano, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words when presenting us with the "Coach of the Year" plaque. What a great tribute for a great man.
(You knew Grafton better than I thought you did!) Again, it was an honor to be there and it will always be an honor to part of Grafton's legacy.
Thank you so much and God bless,
Mindy Weiss
Thanks Mindy - I'm not the greatest speaker but I tried my best to share some insight about an indeed great man who also was a very special coach. Thanks for your family and Coach Mikesell accepting Grafton's award. I'm sure he was smiling down on you!
