Edison-Capistrano Valley still scoreless as we go into the bottom of the fifth inning.
The pitchers, Kurt Heyer of Edison and Kevin Chambers of Capo, are sharp. Edison has four hits, Capo has two. Heyer is 11-2, Chambers is 8-4 ... sure, Chambers is the No. 2 pitcher behind top prospect Tyler Matzek, but Chambers would be the No. 1 pitcher on 99 percent of the teams in the USA.
There have been some excellent defensive players, too ... Kyle Hunt, the SS for Capo, has made a couple of dandy backhand it, stop and throw plays, and 1B Matzek just made a great play on a slow roller that he scooped up with his glove and and, in the same motion, tossed it to Chambers covering first.
Sounds like Edison had the offense and Capo had the defense...
Could have gone either way. 2 good teams. Would like to se a best 2 or 3 series. Yeah! test the depth.
That would be good Grandma.
