Both players are monster athletes but Hillman by almost double , I think in real world this is a hands down toss-up with either kid just barely edging out the other but Hillman by double the margin cmon now.

  • diablohasbeen says:

600 votes for Hillman between 11 pm monday night and 6 am tuesday morning? Wow, alot of ocvarsity fans with graveyard shifts I guess?????? Come on!

  • Readytorumble says:

This is obviously a "click" contest, which is why these fan votes never really tell the truth.

These two fine young men will be teammates at SDSU and that should be fun to watch.

  • footballfan999 says:

I would believe this if the voting showed it was true.. But 600 votes from the time of 11pm -6am is kind of rediculous.

  • oc stand up says:

you can only vote once per computer ya chumps, so shut up and vote for the better playaer (Mr. Hillman)!

    • ADMIN125 says:

OK now the votes are even. Let the "real" voting begin.

    • ocman says:

You think Ronnie Hillman stayed up from 11pm to 6 am to vote for himself, I can't see him doing that. He's to humble for that, my opinion. He have already gotten. League, mvp, and All area, all cif, The Ancich player of the year.( 605 All star game award) That just the ones that i think of off the top of my head, there about nine in total. You can't sign up for this one right. This is a people choice award.

  • diablohasbeen says:

My vote is for King despite how many votes are "clicked". He is a pure "athlete" in every sense of the word in any sport that he plays.

  • Dino Darling says:

Yes, as it has been pointed out, these "fan votes" are just about useless. You CAN vote multiple times by hitting the refresh button in your browser and voting again (sorry, oc stand up). This can also be done by running a simple script that will automatically refresh and vote for you. The only way to prevent this is by limiting the vote based on IP address. This is easy to do also, but I'm sure OCVARSITY is not going to make the effort. This is a click contest to get people to come to the site, and nothing more. (BTW, the current voting CAN be tracked via IP address. I wonder if OCVarsity will publish those results.)

diablohasbeen is a fool and biased. Its easy to hide behind a name and make baseless accusations about the voting. Taking a look at the current trend, it appears its OK when your guy is winning. diablohasbeen, how many times have YOU voted in this round? More than once? It's YOUR integrity being questioned here.

Whether Preston or Ronnie wins this click contest is of no consequence to either one of them. They are both looking forward to the rest of their lives as they leave their high school days behind them. This is how it should be as they mature into the fine young men they are (too bad others here have failed to do so thus far).

I know Ronnie has been honored by the awards he has won this year. These were voted on by the press and coaches...a much more important and legitimate process.

So, click away, and at the end of the day, what does it matter? If your guy wins because you cheated, who did you honor? Yourself? This isn't supposed to be about you or your school, but about the two fine men being honored.

    (still using my REAL name)

  • footballfan999 says:

hey dino darling thats funny you say that diablohasbeen is biased and has no integrity for the voting when you yourself in that last post of your was all about hillman. if your gonna write in here like your the big man and try and get everyone on your side about this voting then why dont you be fair and throw some nice comments about king?

and secondly you should look for a job at best buy with all this computer knowledge you have. i think youd look good in the geek squad.

so how bout your fair and instead of trying to be mr nice guy and know everything cast your vote and be quiet.

    • Dino Darling says:

Easy there footballfan999 (what's your real name?). If you go back and read my post, I speak about both men, not just Hillman. I also didn't solicit any votes for one person over the other. It's up to you to decide who you want to vote for. Read man...learn to read!

While you are at it, take some time to look intelligent when you post; punctuation and spelling would be a good start.

      Next...

  • footballfan999 says:

hahahah your funny so lets take this off topic and bash on more people about spelling and puncuation. isnt this about football? or are you a professional at that to? maybe youve never played a down and to satisfy yourself you post corrections and life lessions on this. in your previous post you said a sentance about king in his later life and going forward nothing about his accomplishments or about his character.. you obviously dont know him.. and the next comment? do you find joy in trying to make people look like fools? how bout hillman or king take you on the field and put some pads on you and make you look like a fool.

  • diablohasbeen says:

    Dino,
I couldn't agree with you more on most of your points. Both guys are great athletes and don't need a marathon click to point that out or to be recognized. As you have stated, Hillman has won many awards by the media and coaches, as has King. I could do the research and probably pull up the many awards that King has received on a team, league, county, state, and national level, I'm sure. This is not bashing on Hillman as he obviously has earned all his awards.

I don't agree with you publishing how to set up your computer to automatically vote. That basically nulls and voids all future "fan based contests"

I also don't agree with you that I am "biased and a fool". I am not biased as I don't really know Hillman personally. I am a South Coast League Fan and a King fan. I just simply vote as everyone else does for my favorite and who I think has the edge. The "fool" part and 'baseless accusations"...... I just simply pointed out the "fact" that there were 600 + votes submitted between the hours of 11pm-6am for Hillman. I did not accuse Hillman of submitting those votes. My best 'guess" would be that it probably is not 600 different fans though. I could be wrong on that!

So I was happy to see that the votes got evened out and a new vote started. I am sure that this won't be the endall for either Hillman or King if they dont advance to the next round. Just another stupid contest. Have a great day!

  • football fan dale says:

yes this contest dosent mean a thing both boys are gifted athletes thats why there names are up here,
as i see it both are going to the same school and will probably become good team mates because they are both stand up athletes
its people like footballfan999 that cause all the crap in this world and are just looking to fight, i think the 999 is up side down!!! (666)
i spoke to hillman and he dosent want is name in this contest!
i am a fan of athletes who put there heart in the game .
good luck to all the athletes who were nominated,
and to the guys who start crap! go lay in the yard!!!!!!!!!(grow up)
diablo that sounds like a word in spanish
as my favorite president said "pease man" there is also Rodney King

  • Now the voting has become square with both of OC's top athletes being voted for on merit and performance and as i had mentioned earlier both young men top notch first class and well deserving of all they accomplished GREAT JOB to the both of you and go SDSU.
