The net broke during warmups, delaying the start of the second round CIF-SS Division I playoff match here at Esperanza High.
The gym is starting to fill up and the players are continuing to warm up.
I will bringing updates throughout the match. It figures to be an exciting one.
Santa Margarita has been on a roll, tearing through Trinity League play. The Aztecs, who finished second in the Sunset League, are a pesky bunch who don't go down to anyone easily.
The Eagles are going to rely on star and USC-bound Tanner Jansen, but it's the supporting cast that can make the Eagles seem unbeatable. Esperanza is going to need to contain outside Ryan Baine and Spencer Buckley to to have a chance.
For Esperanza, there key is limiting errors. The Aztecs are loaded with juniors, but can struggle with their serves and hitting at times. The fewer mistakes by the Aztecs they better their chances are to emerge victorious.
My prediction is Santa Margarita in 5.
