Santa Margarita missed a serve into the net on game point and Esperanza grabbed the opening game 25-22. It was one of six missed serves for the Eagles. Their errors are hurting them, and at the same time Esperanza is getting their hands on everything.

The Aztecs are playing with tons more energy and excitement than Santa Margarita. It’s really Esperanza’s game when they play fired up like this.

Update 5

Esperanza led 24-20 but Santa Margarita won the next two points to force a timeout with the Aztecs leading 24-22

Update 4

Time out Santa Margarita. Esperanza is in front 19-16. The Aztecs are playing unbelievable defense right now, keeping ball after ball alive. The Eagles are missing too many serves and aren’t setting Jansen enough. He has just one kill.

Update 3

Esperanza is ahead 17-14 and it is super loud in here. The Aztecs are very dangerous when they play with the energy they have right now, and with the home crowd behind them, the Eagles need to ride the storm out.

Update 2

Santa Margarita missed a serve long and the match is tied at 10.

Update 1

Josh Dohrman’s winner gave Esperanza an early 6-5 lead. The Aztecs have their energy flowing, a sign Esperanza is here to play. Spencer Buckley already has a block in the middle for the Eagles, a good sign for them.
