RELATED:
It’s been nice to watch the growth of this Edison team. As an emerging power they haven’t had a tradition of winning softball, but they appear to be learning. I thought they got two great victories over Marina and Esperanza. In both games they made errors early, that, in the past years, would have sunk them. This year they didn’t but hung in to win each game in extra innings against two teams that in previous years beat up on them.
Their final challenge will be to beat Los Alamitos on the road, another team that in past years kicked sand in their face. Should they pull it off, it will be a nice accomplishment because the Chargers will not be able to go deep in the playoffs without becoming road warriors. Should the Lady Chargers win their final two league games and get a share of the title it will be a signal to the rest of the Sunset League that the nexus of softball power has shifted to south Huntington Beach.
