The consensus county No. 1 continues for its sixth consecutive week. However, there is much debate as to where the other teams fall.
Take a look for yourself and let us know where you think the teams belong:
1. Newport Harbor (60 poll points)
Sailors close Sunset League play with Edison and Fountain Valley, then visit No. 2 CdM on Friday.
2. Corona del Mar (50)
The Sea Kings have the Pacific Coast title wrapped up. They close league with University on Tuesday, then face No. 1 Newport on Friday.
3. San Clemente (49)
Tritons two victories from undefeated league championship, which would be 8th consecutive South Coast title. Biggest match this week is league finale with Aliso Niguel. San Clemente already has a share of the crown.
4. Santa Margarita (37)
The Eagles are currently in first place in the Trinity league at 7-1. They host Orange Lutheran Monday night.
5. Orange Lutheran (36)
Lancers (6-2) still have shot at Trinity League title. Face Santa Margarita on Monday; Mater Dei on Wednesday.
6. Mater Dei (31)
The Monarchs close out their Trinity schedule Wednesday at Orange Lutheran. Monarchs finished second over the weekend in the Redondo Tournament, losing to Division No. 1 Mira Costa 25-22, 26-28, 15-13 in the final.
7. Esperanza (28)
Aztecs suffered two losses to No. 1 Newport last week. They finish league with three matches this week, and are still holding out for second place.
8. Edison (15)
Chargers face No. 1 Newport Harbor on Tuesday, and could earn a share of the league title with a victory in that one and a Newport loss to Fountain Valley. The Chargers close league with Los Alamitos on Thursday, and that’s no easy match.
9. Foothill (10)
The Knights face Sea View rival Huntington Beach on Tuesday. A victory gives Foothill the league title outright.
10. Huntington Beach (9)
Oilers need to beat Foothill on Tuesday to claim at least a share of the league title.
Others: Laguna Beach (8)
Breakers can be described as the tough luck team for the county rankings. Two weeks ago they fell out without losing a match. They were voted back in last week, only to fall out of the rankings again this week. They defeated Calvary Chapel this week, and haven’t loss in more than a month.
