The Sea View League title is going to be decided on Thursday in a rematch of between county top-1o rivals.
Northwood, ranked N0. 5, claimed a share of the crown last Friday by defeating No. 6 Woodbridge, 10-8. The Warriors (8-1) are the visiting team this time around against Northwood (9-0), which can claim the league championship outright by defending its home court.
"Our guys played well," Northwood coach Eric Keith said in an email, "and as we expected, it was a very close match."
Key singles sets will play a pivotal role in deciding Thursday's rematch. The Timberwovles No. 1 player Junya Yoshida defeated the Warriors No. 1 Mikey Zablan. In the second round, Woodbridge's Andre Halabi defeated Julian Ruffin, 7-5.
Yoshida's victory over Zablan gave Northwood a 4-2 lead after the opening round, and it proved the difference in the match as the teams tied 3-3 in Rounds 2 and 3.
