  • Scott says:

Julio Cruz - Santa Ana HS avg 18.5 ppg 7.0 rebs shot over 50% from 3 for a CIF playoff team how is he left off the roster Also Abraham Granados of Santa Ana HS avg 16.8 ppg and 5.5 assists per game shot over 50% from 3 85% ft

  • Hoopsfan says:

Canyon wins CIF Div-III by beating Santa Margarita and pretty easy I might add. Not one player gets selected to an All Star squad from the CIF Champions, Canyon High School? However, Santa Margarita CIF Runner's up get two players selected? What's wrong with this picture???

  • Donald says:

    Wow. Nice picks.

  • occoach says:

did you email Mike Rangel and nominate your players? Coaches had to email Mike Rangel to nominate players

  • Scott says:

Both of the Santa Ana kids were nominated by their coach who added their stats on the nomination form both kids are great students as well Julio Cruz has a 4.2 GPA and will attend UCLA this fall he will major in psycology on a full academic scholarship, he plans to try and walk-on. Abraham has a 3.8 GPA and has had interest from La Sierra University as well as Hope

  • Derek says:

This is a complete joke braiden priest an dan galuccio both deserve to be on the team rather then more the all of the guys selected!! It should be the best players!! These are definetly not the best players! There fore this is a joke!!

    • DJ says:

Braden Priest was invited to play. He is out of town that weekend and could not play .

  • JS says:

If a coach doesn't nominate a kid, or he does nominate the kid and the kid has something else going on obviously he may not be on the roster. Anyone bother to see if any of these all-world players are playing in the Top 100 Showcase on the same day? Instead of getting all worked up maybe contact your coach and see if the nomination form got sent or if the kid has aunt Bessy's funeral to go to instead.

  • julio CRuz says:

    This is not cool...
I played for Santa Ana High School this past year
I will Attend UCLA on a FULL RIDE academic scholarship this coming fall.

YOU GUYS NEVER SHOWED US ANY LOVE.
Some of the athletes on the roster do not deserve to be there.

  • Coach Tenchka says:

Julio received his scholarship because he has a 4.3 GPA and scored 1850 on SAT he has earned everything coming to him because of hard work and effort. Also can't dispute his numbers, 18.5 ppg, 7.0 rebs per game, 2.5 assists per game he shot 63% FG and 53% from 3FG he deserves to be in the game and he was nominated

  • JS says:

From what I have heard from people involved in the game this year, there is a TON of disorganization. Rosters weren't put out until a week ago, whereas in years past players were made aware 2-3 weeks in advance. Rosters have been flip-flopped, even at the banquet on Wednesday. It's unfortunate because the kids deserve to have a great experience. I saw SAHS play and thought Cruz was really good. I would say that Randy Villegas from Saddleback had just as big a gripe as Cruz, though. Cruz is a better explosive athlete, but he had far more talent around him than Villegas had at Saddleback. Antoine Johnson was the best player on the floor, but if we're talking about Cruz, we may as well talk about Villegas. Similar numbers and had superior head-to-head stats.
