Here are three matches county volleyball fans should keep an eye on today.

No. 1 Newport Harbor at No. 3 Esperanza, 3:30 p.m.

After the Sailors outlasted the Aztecs in a back and forth match Monday, these two rivals square off again today, as Newport Harbor will look to clinch at least a share of the Sunset League title with a victory. Newport Harbor is coming off a four game victory Tuesday over Marina, as Hamilton Day led the way with 13 kills. The Aztecs swept Los Alamitos the same day, as five players recorded seven kills or more. Can the Aztecs break the Sailors undefeated run through the Sunset, or will the Sailors defeat Esperanza for the third time this season?

No.2 Corona del Mar at Irvine, 5:15 p.m.

The Sea Kings have impressively dominated the Pacific Coast League, losing only one game in running off to a 6-0 league record. They can clinch the league title outright with a win over the second place Vaqueros. Joey Cooper led the way in Tuesday’s win over Laguna Hills with nine kills. Since losing to the Sea Kings on April 3, Irvine has won four straight matches without losing a game, including Tuesday’s sweep of Beckman, as Trevor Hollabaugh led the way with a team-high 22 kills.

No. 7 Edison at Marina 5:45 p.m.

With a showdown against the top-ranked Sailors looming next week, the Chargers will look to stay in the league title hunt with a win over the Vikings. Edison rebounded from their four game loss to Esperanza with a five game victory over Fountain Valley Tuesday, as Dillon Auxier and Torey Darin combined for 33 kills. The Vikings have struggled since entering league play, losing six of seven, but can spoil Edison’s chances with a strong effort.
