San Clemente's Tiffany Corder. / Paul Bersebach, The Register
As a standout goalie for the CIF-SS Division I and Southern California Regional champion Tritons, and as one of the county's better softball players, San Clemente senior Tiffany Corder is used to being in the county spotlight.
This week, however, Corder's outstanding achievements will be under the national spotlight.
She is scheduled to be a featured athlete in this week's "Faces in the Crowd" segment in Sports Illustrated.
The magazine is expected to hit the stands across the country on Wednesday.
WOW!!! Way to be an athlete Tiffany! I wrote at the beginning of soccer season that Tiffany Corder deserved to be recognized as a top soccer player to watch. She has proven that to be true. At the end of the season, OC Register and CIF agreed. And now it seems, so did Sports Illustrated. The SC team was unstoppable this season. Her softball accomplishments also speak for themselves. With the new #1 ranking for soccer by NSCAA, Tiffany is now a 2-sport National Champion in both high school soccer and 18Gold softball (August 2007). I wonder how many high school athletes have achieved such a feat? That had to take alot of work and sacrifice. Congratulations and best of luck at the next level!!!! Congratulations to SCHS soccer as well!
Faces in the crowd rocks!
