
The awards and recognition keep coming for the San Clemente girls’ soccer team.
The Tritons were recognized as the top high school girls soccer team in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Last week, the Tritons were ranked second in the nation by ESPN Rise.
Melbourne High of Florida, ranked first by ESPN Rise, was second in the NSCAA rankings, with Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Texas finishing third.
The Tritons (29-4-1) became the first girls team in state history to win the CIF-SS Division I and CIF Southern California Division I Regional titles last month.
Buchanan High of Clovis, who won their fourth consecutive CIF-CS title before losing to the Tritons in the CIF Regional title game, was ranked sixth.
