Boys volleyball: Thursday’s recap

In the Trinity League:

No. 3 Orange Lutheran 3, J Serra 0: The Lancers (19-4, 4-1) swept the Lions 25-17, 25-23, 25-21 at Orange Lutheran High.

No. 8 Santa Margarita 3, St. John Bosco 1: The Eagles rallied after dropping the first set to defeat the Braves in four 21-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-23.

In the Century League:

El Modena 3, Brea Olinda 0: Connor Olbright continued his strong play with 23 kills and 17 assists while Daniel Greco chipped in 25 assists, as the Vanguards (13-6, 6-0) remained undefeated with a 25-21, 25-16, 25-23.

El Dorado 3, Tustin 0: The Golden Hawks won for the fourth time in five matches, sweeping the Tillers 25-17, 25-11, 25-19 at El Dorado High.

Canyon 3, Villa Park 0: The host Comanches knocked off the Spartans 25-19, 25-22, 25-1.

In the Empire League:

Cypress 3, Kennedy 0: The visiting Centurions (11-1, 6-0) received 35 assists from Devon Nitta in a 25-17, 29-27, 25-20 win over the Fighting Irish.

Loara 3, Katella 0: Matt Neuschafer led the Saxons with seven kills, as Loara (8-6, 5-1) swept the Knights 25-15, 25-13, 25-10 at Loara High.

In the Garden Grove League:

Garden Grove 3, Bolsa Grande 0: Behind 11 kills from Justin Santos, the Argonauts (10-3) swept the Matadores (7-7, 2-4) 25-16, 25-13, 25-19 at Bolsa Grande High.

In the Orange Coast League:

Costa Mesa 3, Estancia 0: The Mustangs picked up the three game win 25-16, 25-7, 25-21. Cole Jones led Estancia in the loss with 8 kills, while Tyler Sullivan dished out 11 assists.

In the San Joaquin League:

Saddleback Valley Christian 3, Tarbut V’ Torah 2: Jeff Modugno and Wes Zimmerman combined for 28 kills to lead the host Warriors (6-3-1) past the Lions 25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 12-25, 17-15.

In the Sea View League:

Northwood 3, El Toro 0: The Timberwolves picked up the three game victory over the Chargers (10-8, 2-4) 25-14, 25-22, 25-15 at El Toro High.
