Outlook: The two-time defending Sunset League champions are in need of a second-half revival.

The Griffins, who were ranked fourth in the county in the preseason poll, have struggled. They return to league play having lost its previous two league games by a combined scored of 23-6.

The Griffins won the first meeting, 13-2. on March. 20.

The home-and-home series shifts to Los Alamitos Friday. Tyler Godoy is the bat to watch for Los Alamitos. He’s hitting .500 with 11 RBIs.

Beau Wright is 1-2 with a 5.35 ERA, so getting him back on track will be key for any Los Alamitos second-half surge.

The Sailors advanced to the finals of the Beach Pit Classic last week, before losing to league rival Fountain Valley.

Alex Rios leads the Sailors with a .409 batting average. Nick Vlahakis is 2-1 with a 3.73 ERA.
