Saturday: Esperanza (4-9-1, 1-5) at No. 3 Edison (13-2, 7-0), 11 a.m.
Outlook: After a long hiatus from county action, the Edison Chargers are back.
You remember them, don’t you?
Edison last played a game in the county back on April 4. That seems like forever ago.
The team went to Hawaii immediately after and went 3-1.
Kurt Heyer and Henry Owens both improved to 5-0 with victories on the trip.
Edison has already defeated Esperanza twice this season. The Aztecs struggled to start Sunset League, but that hasn’t been the case in the National Classic.
Esperanza defeated Mamaroneck of New York, 8-7, in the first round and Archbishop Mitty, 10-3, in the second round.
Could this be the signs of an Esperanza rebirth? Stay tuned.
