Here is a look some of the action on a light night of competition from around the county.

In the Academy League:

St. Margaret’s 3, Whitney 0: The Tartans (7-3, 4-0) remained undefeated in league with 25-14, 25-14, 25-15 win over the Wildcats (8-6, 1-3) at St. Margaret’s High.

In the Century League:

El Dorado 3, Brea Olinda 0: Behind 30 kills from Nick West, the Golden Hawks (12-6, 3-1) swept the Wildcats 25-17, 25-15, 27-25 at El Dorado High.

In the Empire League:

Kennedy 3, Valencia 0: Matt Morinishi had a team high eight kills, while Mark Malana added seven, as the Fighting Irish (6-6, 1-2) picked up their first league win of the season with a 25-18, 25-16, 25-23 victory over the Tigers at Valencia High.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Irvine 3, University 0: Mark Metrakos and Trevor Hollabaugh combined for 23 kills, while Jon Lindgren added 32 assists, as the Vaqueros swept the Trojans 25-5, 25-8, 25-8 at University High.
