Saturday: No. 5 Tesoro (11-2) vs. Gahr (9-3), 7 p.m. at Boysen Park
Outlook: There will be a lot of baseball played Saturday in the Anaheim Lions Tournament.
The annual tournament actually begins Thursday, but will be in full madness on Saturday. That’s because there will be 34 games (yes, I said 34) played at various locations throughout Orange County in this year’s tournament.
This game is between two teams ranked high in their respective CIF-SS divisions. The Titans are ranked third in Division I, and Gahr is ranked second in Division III.
This will be the second game of the day for both teams. Tesoro begins the day at 1 p.m. against Katella at Glover Stadium, and then the Titans head to Boysen Park to face Gahr at 7:30 p.m.
This could be an offensive showdown. Tesoro has the best offense in the county (yeah, I said it). The Titans can strike at any moment, and as of Monday had a .430 batting average.
Gahr is hitting at a .428 clip, led by Daniel Lack’s .559 batting average.
Pitchers Beware!!!
(Team records, rankings and stats are through April 6)
