Here’s how I voted in this week’s poll:
1. Newport Harbor: The Sailors remain in the No. 1 spot after wins over Sunset rivals Los Alamitos and Marina.
2. Corona del Mar: The Sea Kings have won four consecutive matches, opening the Pacific Coast League with wins over Laguna Hills and Irvine last week.
3. Orange Lutheran: The Lancers suffered a pair of five-set losses to St. John Bosco and Mira Costa last week, but only one of their four losses this season is to a county school.
4. Esperanza: After dropping their league opener to Edison, the Aztecs rebounded with a win over Los Alamitos.
5. Mater Dei: The Monarchs will look to rebound from their defeat to Santa Margarita with a win over St. John Bosco Tuesday.
6. Huntington Beach: With three set victories over Northwood and El Toro, the Oilers win streak has now reached five.
7. Laguna Beach: The Breakers are not scheduled to play again until April 21.
8. Edison: Wins over Esperanza and Fountain Valley have the Chargers tied for the top spot with Newport Harbor.
9. San Clemente: The Tritons did not loss a game in back to back league triumphs over Dana Hills and Tesoro.
10. Santa Margarita: A big win over Mater Dei has the Eagles cracking the top ten.

Thank you for clearing things up. To move into to 2nd you have to knock off The off teams like Laguna Hills. But don’t even think about dropping a 5 game match to the number #1 team in the Country?
HoopsFan,
Though I did detect just a bit of sarcasm in your comment, I appreciate your thoughts. This weeks rankings was in a word…crazy….. Yes, Orange Lutheran did lose a tough five game match to the top team in the country. But the Lancers also lost to St. John Bosco in their previous match. The Lancers are without a doubt one of the better teams in the county, but an 0-2 week means a drop in the rankings….in this case from second to third……
