Thursday: No. 5 Edison (7-1, 3-0) at No. Los Alamitos (7-5, 2-1), 3:15 p.m.
Outlook: How quickly can you spell Czerniachowski? Edison’s Chris Czerniachowski, who is known as CZ at school, gave the Chargers a leg up in the Sunset League with his game-winning hit against Marina last week.
Another week, another big game and this time it is Los Alamitos.
The Griffins fell from the county top 10 after losing to Fountain Valley, 3-2, last week. Tyler Godoy is hitting .536 for the Griffins, he has a slugging percentage of .679 and an on-base percentage of .606.
Edison starter Kurt Heyer (3-0, 0.72) might have been dominant against Esperanza (allowing five hits and striking out seven), but his best performance might have been against Marina. He pitched a complete game and worked himself out of trouble on several occasions to keep Edison in the game until CZ came through with his winning hit.
Edison has to be the league frontrunner now, but will it last in this league?

ive seen heyer throw better games than the one he threw against marina. balls were being hit hard every inning and hes lucky to have survived or even stayed in that game. hes lucky that marina was hitting balls right at his defense too. and CZ bailed him out with his clutch ab. but the only reason heyer wasnt pulled out of that game was because the rest of that pitching staff cant be trusted besides owens
One player does not win or lose a game. Edison is a team…work together, play together, win together and if we lose…we do that together too. No pitcher is worth his mettle unless he can rely on his team mates. And come one now…Marina hit it right to our defense? As far as trusting our pitching staff…come watch all of our games…some good days…some bad but they always give the 100% effort…that will always pay off in the end…
Mr. Cabeza, come on buddy, you sound like you are from River-side. I was at the game as well, and Marina only hit 2 balls hard all game, the other 6 were bleeders. Typcial Marina person here. The Lewis HR (which he disgracefully showed up Heyer by walking with his bat and pointing), and the Contrares shot to center. That was it. What game were you watching? The reason Heyer wasn’t pulled was probably because he was shoving the ball up Marina all game. Their bullpen, from what I heard, is just fine. Strong, on the other hand, should have been pulled with his tired arm in the 7th…unlike Heyer, whose arm is robotic. Great game by both teams nontheless, the next 2 will be downright battles.
i am an edison fan and i go to most games but was unable to make it today. i see that edison won. did anyone go to the game that could fill me in on some highlights?
Heyer pitched another great game had a shut until the bottom of the 7th . Jones hit a 3 run homer Snyder added a triple and Sneed just keeps pounding the ball and throwing out runners. The defense was awesome again turning 4 double plays.
