Kelsey Harris 4th team? Your serious? Wow... That is amazing. Did you not watch the State Championship game? Did you not watch the CIF Championship game? She deserved better..... 53% from the 3pt line... Not even on the All-Junior team.... That is amazing. I guess that gives her even more motivation for next year... to keep knocking down the big shot in the BIG GAMES... Way to go Kelsey... You deserved much better.

  • Agree says:

I agree there are players on both 3rd and 4th whos teams did way better than some of the girls on second team not getting that at all. I mean C'mon SC, Laguna hills Mission viejo - what did they do?????

  • NoDog says:

If you put the Kelsy Harris' of the basketball world on the same court with the, lets just say the Brianna Salvatorre's (villa park), there would be no comparison. As the real good players on a great "team" would stand out versus above average players on a good team. Kelsey stands out for those of you not getting it.

  • Alice says:

Here's how it should have been - Krod s play earned her first team not Hartman - 2nd should have been Harris, Ward, Samuelson, Adams, Sanchez - all teams did well in a tough OC, Still not buying Z on first but for some reason she;s their favorite. others should have been 3rd.

  • glass half full says:

are you kidding me ,4th team and rodriguez on 1st. sink ought to be ashamed here. hartman and rodriguez over kelsey, not inthe real world or here after is that reality. probably moved in with the samulsons, bonnie.

  • nashfan says:

Well can't stick up for you on this bro - it's difficult to even figure out what you used to pick these teams - I stopped comin on here as I felt you were being fickle and gushing over certain teams instead of just writing what you saw and then I wondered whether you really understood what you saw.

It was all Mater Dei, Mater Dei and now it's all Brea, Brea, but you are listening to someone who is not giving you correct information clearly as your first and 2nd team don't reflect how the teams or girls have done this year.

There were 3 players who did well on Brea - Ervin, Rodriguez and Harris not who you picked. Now you have to recognize Lewis for Mater Dei and Adams as they were the 2 on that team, then you have to recognize those on Foothill - Marinacci no brainer, Troy Sanchez but not clear cut, Ward, for Woodbridge, Samuelson for Edison - then you would look at the other teams who didn't do as well but got their teams in the top ten. All of these players had big games and were solid. Now the order of these players doesn't concern me but what does is that you seemed to discount what some of them did for their teams and that their teams were probably all capable of taking on the top teams from Norcal.

  • jbushmills says:

Have to agree with Nash - if you are going to go on what the county teams did then you have to look at the top 5 teams first who did well in CIF- even if you looked at the best players in OC I don't know how you would come up with that group Breas big girl no way and Zornig, I would compare her to Peterson, why not Peterson as she had no big girls setting screens for her but neither should be top 5 as they did not propel their teams.

  • efan says:

Definitely strange - can't seem to follow what Carlos was thinking - 1 clearly should have not been first team and I think all of Brea would agree with that and hey I like Z but not first team this year. The others are all wahcked out.

  • Disgusted fan says:

Carlos don't interview Kelsey Harris anymore after games if your going to emberass her by putting her on fourth team. I am a big Kelsey Harris fan and know that she is one of the hardest working girls in the county. She played her ass off this year and was clearly a first if not second team county player hands down. Did you not watch the State Championship? CIF Championship? Finished Second in scoring for Brea this year. Get over yourself Carlos and all your favorites you make me sick.

  • Hey glass says:

Good luck with the club thing - I'll be checking you guys out.

  • marty p says:

I thought this was about top 5 PLAYERS not top players on best teams for all the laguna hills mission viejo and zorning bashers put some of YOUR top players on these teams and see how many games they win with surrounding talent on those teams take kp off mission they might win 5 take zorning and englund off their respective teams and see how many wins they get luckily the people who matter college coaches Know who the top players are it is not the top team it is the top player award just because brea won state doesn't mean they r all the best players

  • ExCollegeCoach says:

It is entertaining reading the blogs, but here is one which reinforces incompetence. On the 5th team, one of the selectees was 2nd team all league, but her team mate was selected to 1st team all league and 2nd team all CIF. She was totally missed by Carlos. Maybe too much power for writers that have too little knowledge.

  • Hey marty says:

If that was the case the top5 would look completely different but it doesn't!

  • theiman says:

The above list for the fourth place team, as of Wed morning, only lists 4 players(I think A. Ward of Woodbridge was listed on the 3rd and 4th teams). Might be a good idea to add in Lauren Shute of Dana Hills who avg'd 18ppg and was missed entirely.

Honorable mention list would be Erin Beadle of Woodbridge. She impressed me every time I saw Woodbridge. She doesnt score a lot of points as a pg but she is a very good floor director.

  • oh boy says:

And that would make a difference - problem is it is clear Arias has no clue about basketball, his articles have been 1 sided all year, he can't even comment on whats really happening in a game and believes these socalled top coaches bs and can't see through their agenda.

  • To marty says:

Way to tear down not only your team but those others too! Classy.

  • moms and pops says:

Carlos I will be laughing if I read that you put some of these individual whiners on your preview list next year, i can understand debates about groups of players but when moms and dads come on with their own individual daughters agenda LOL.

Now to Marty a little contradiction in that if the top players in the OC were being picked, the top 5 would be a little different, both Brea girls lived off off Ervin, and even she can have her ugly moments. Lewis lived off off her teams defense and Adams. Peterson, I like but she never made any of her team better. Harberts had 2 other 6 footers. (and SC bombed) Englen, I like but how'd she do against the teams above her, not so good. Sanchez is 1 of 5 solid players for Troy. So you see no criteria either way!
