C’Mon..what happened to Gabe York!? I’ve seen the young man play and he’s been a force to reckon with. Congrats to all the winners; I’m not hatten on ‘em. But R U Out ‘Chore mind? His stats surely make him a consideration for ONE of the all county teams?? Good that the college scouts and recruiters think with their own minds. OCV’s cred just took a real “nose-dive” !
You missed one…..Jimmy Jackson at Cypress High. After losing 2 top players to other schools, he became the teams go to guy in pre-season on a team with limited talent and a slow down controlled half court offense. He scored over 300 points – had 48 3′s – and was named 1st team All League for the Empire League. WHERE’S THE LOVE !!!
Josh Cook is the Best Freshman Athelete in the County Period. Good choice he’s a good kid as well!! We will be hearing from him on the Football field as well!
I genuinly thought that Ian Oh from esperanza should have been one of the top 5 freshmen in the county. He didnt start of so hot at first but later he seemed to be able to control the tempo for esperanza. He’s quick and has great ball handling. He just needs to work on his shot. In a close game against Garret James at Esperanza he played the 2nd team all county player really well. He might have even outplayed him.
Josh Cook has some skills and is very light on his feet considering his size. From what I remember he spent most the year on JV. JV isn’t bad considering who was in front of him, but the games I saw he wasn’t exactly dominant. Don’t get me wrong he will be a very good player but there is no better freshman in the county nor the state than Gabe York. How does Gabe get state freshman of the year but not county freshman of the year?
