Tapped Out: Morgan McIntosh's future looks bright.

Year No. 6 of my journey to Bakersfield is done. Each year, I have had at least one county champion. This year it was Morgan McIntosh (171)

Morgan McIntosh, who was also selected as Champion of Champions, finished the season 42-0. He might be on the verge of history. Brian Moreno (Foothill) is the only county wrestler to win three state titles.

Bruce Terry (1978-79), Howard Lawson (1980-81), Todd Tomazic (1986-87), Mike Phillips (1987-88), Heath Sims (1988-89), Zach Cooper (1989-90), Tony Okada (1990-91), Josh Holiday (1994-95), Ed Mosley (1994-95), Joe Calavitta (1996-97), Ty Wilcox (1996-97), Michael Simpson (1999-2000), Joe Williams (2002-03) are the only county wrestlers to win two state titles.

I think McIntosh will be able to at least join that group and who knows, maybe Moreno will have some company.

"A lot of the coaches have told me that he is by far the best wrestler in the state of California," Calvary Chapel coach Arsen Aleksanyan said. "I don't think he worries about records, rankings or pressure. He doesn't buy into the pressure."

And as for the future:

"I think there's a lot he can do," Aleksanyan said.

Aleksanyan then ran through a list of possible achievements and the first: Three-time state champion.
