Girls soccer semifinals preview: Sunny Hills vs. Cypress

CIF-SS SOCCER SEMIFINALS
Division III
SUNNY HILLS (23-3-3) vs. CYPRESS (16-8-1)
Site, time: Cypress High, 3 p.m.
Outlook: The third-seeded Lancers return to the semifinals for the first time since winning the title in 2007. Sunny Hills defeated Atascadero 3-0 in the first round, Kennedy 2-1 in the second round, and Chadwick High 1-0 in the quarterfinals.
Since losing to Fullerton on Feb. 3, the Lancers have won six straight by a cumulative score of 21-1.
The Centurions are also riding a six-game winning streak into the semifinals. Cypress knocked off Costa Mesa 2-1 in overtime in the first round, Arroyo Grande 3-2 in the second round, before advancing past La Mirada 4-3 in penalty kicks in the quarterfinals.
The Centurions’ appearance in the semifinals is the first in school history.

I just left the Cypress VS Sunnyhills game and I am so disgusted ,
this is a proven fact ref’s are bias! Let the best two teams play ref’s .
The game was a 1-1 tie with literally seconds left to go to overtime,
and the ref who had called 20-30 fouls in favor of cypress to 3 fouls called in favor of cypress . Calls a gouls outside the 18 yard box for sunnyhills, they score and then he blows the whistle GAME OVER. This is not to take away from Sunny Hills you played well, it was a great game. But, leave it up to the REFS are you kidding. Then after the game walk the reff walks up to the Head Coach of Sunny Hills
shakes his hand laughs and walk’s away. This Center ref should be ashamed oh himself . You don’t call tacky fouls with seconds left in a SEMI FINAL.. You might of as well scored the goal yourself. CIF should be ashamed these ref’s made such a horrible call. I’m disgusted.

Sorry I sent that without reading I meant the reff called 20-30 fouls against Cypress for Sunny hills And GAve Cypress 3 freekicks That is complete BIAS. Next time be upfront a CENTER REF and show us your daughter or niece or friend on the team, and have some class and don’t go laughing after you blew a game and shake a coaches hand , since you gave them a game.. SAD
I ‘m sorry sunnyhills fan, if you were at game you would have seen the reff won for you. You are a good team but.. You think you beat Cypress no the ref did. If you were at game you would have seen that. Now don’t be un classy or immature and say whoo hoo. The reff gave it away and if you were at game you saw that too. how about let the teams play and ref get off the fields you make it worse! I never said sunny hills wasn’t good . It was a great game but Sunny hills didn’t beat Cypress the REF DID
Apparently you weren’t watching the same game. As the ref stopped the game numerous times in YOUR favor. That’s how you scored your only goal. Maybe next year….Well done SHHS. You showed heart and never panicked. See you at the finals. GO LANCERS!!!!!
It is what It is. Sunny Hills did not win league just because. Bottom line they Won!!!! Great Job Sunnny Hills you guys did it. Even though you did not have your Starting forward Captain playing because she’s hurt. You still pulled it off. This shows how Superior the Freway league is. Sunny Hills Vs Troy in Finals!!!! Biased Refs??? against Cypress….? How about the GOAL taken AWAY from Sunny Hills on a header, when apparently SH forward commmitted a foul? Yeah, those refs are suuuure biased for Sunny Hills. Apparently there were two separate games going on.

As far as killed Cypress LOL.it was 1-1 before that..They won on bad call HELLO?And also what about the dirty play that took out one of Cypress leading goal scorers ten minutes into game and injured her bad and not even a foul called .Hopefully someone filmed that game and submits it to CIF… Soccer shouldn’t be played that way, SHAME SHAME .. Once again SHAME on ref’s i wont even address sunnyhills fans, that game was called horribly .. Sunnyhills was good , never said different, I said the refs gave away the game big difference…A two year old could of called it better… GO TROY!!!!

The ref was inconsistent all game long! It didn’t surprise me of the outcome.
Fun game to watch, but you gotta give it to Cypress for pulling the game level…… it did make it exciting.

goooo troy! we all know sunny hills didnt deserve league and only won it after we tied fullerton for them, a team they couldn’t even beat in the second part of league. well. we finally got it together..a little late in the season..but just in time for a CIF Championship! yeahhhh warriors!

Cypress Fan Here! I was at the game. The goal called back that SH scored on a Corner Kick header was not an offside call, it was a “climb over the back” call. It should have been a “no call” and should have been a SH goal. It was a weak call. The Ref’s had nothing to do with this game. SH won fair and square. The final foul that eventually gave SH the victory was a weak call, but that is soccer. Both teams had their chances SH did a better job finishing on their chances. Cypress will be back with a Sophomore class that should dominate the starting line up next year as Juniors making for a strong 2010 and stronger 2011. To SH good luck in the Finals.
Sunny Hills will beat Troy without question if the playing field is neutral. The bottom line is that Troy’s team overall cannot stop the opponent from passing on a regulation field. They think small like their practice field. Sunny Hills pass the ball as you will and Troy cannot stop you, be agressive and you will succeed. GOAL, GOAL, GOAL, GOOD LUCK and think CIF Champs.
Cypress Fan.. I’m sorry the center Ref called .. A foul and the lines men called offsides on header goal.. So either way they committed both offsides and over the back! It in turn is no call, I have no idea
what game you were watching but that game was completley botched by the reff’s also the reff let the game go 2 minutes pass the time he should of .. (yes that is including stoppage). Sunny hills had their chances, and Cypress did also. What fans want is a game to end fairly regardless of the outcome.. NOT ON A FOUL… Nor do
you want one of your best players to be taken out 10 minutes into
the game on a dirty foul, and not even get a whistle. It’s not complaining about losing or about ref’s it’s about letting teams play
and decide who wins not leaving it up to ref’s shame on them , and
you know that is the truth!! Cypress will be back, they are young..
They will be LEAD by a core of AWESOME seniors next year, and great sophmores and juniors!!! I’m shocked you watched, and got that impression from the game and your a fan.. WOW.. OKAY.. Everyone agrees Sunny Hills got luck called their way.. and might not
say it but are glad they got away with it! I hope TROY wins better team
and better program, and have really earned it more then anyone,(besides Cypress) and that’s from a CYPRESS fan.. !!!
