Girls soccer semifinals preview: St. Margaret’s vs. San Jacinto

ST. MARGARET’S (16-4-4) vs. SAN JACINTO (26-1)
Site, time:
San Jacinto High, 3 p.m.

Outlook: The Tartans will be making their second consecutive appearance in the semifinals. They advanced past Citrus Hill High 3-0 in penalty kicks in the first round, defeated Santa Paula 3-0 in the second round, and 1-0 over Calvary Chapel/Murrieta in the quarterfinals.

Freshman McCaully Patch has scored all four of the team’s goals in the past two games and has scored a team-high 15 goals this season.

The Tigers are the top seeded team in the division, and for the first time in school history, have advanced past the first round.

Senior Melisa Escamilla is one of top goal scorers in Southern California, tallying 61 goals this season.
