Girls soccer: SAV’s Rodriguez to UC Irvine

The county’s leading goal scorer will be staying close to home to continue her soccer career.

Santa Ana Valley senior Mar Rodriguez has signed her letter of intent to attend UC Irvine.

Rodriguez has enjoyed a spectacular season, tallying 54 goals and 22 assists.

Her season has included seven hat tricks, two games with four goals, and a five goal performance.

She has scored a goal in every game this season, helping lead the Falcons to a 22-0-1 record and a No. 1 seed in the CIF Division IV playoffs.
