now that i’ve had time to think and reflect back on the season, i’ve come to realize that troy tech deserves the mvp of the league in sanchez. although bryantt did score a few points against them, many of them were probably garbage points. and scoring in the 30s aginst the hills is nothing to write home about. thats like scoring 20 against la habra. as for taking her team to the playoffs, bp is not just a one girl show. the other girls don’t get as much credit as they should. there other players are solid and the league was down. fullerton who goes 0-3 in the first 3 games and then still finishes in 2nd. also, sonora who i hyped up way too big loses to them twice.
troy tech may lose in the semis like i predicted before, but there is no shame in losing to poly.
alicia komaki, if you do read these posts…we would love to have you here as a head coach. we could really use come guiadance.
why is there so much hostility? these are high school girls and i’m sure they play for the love of the game. who cares who gets league mvp and who cares if sonora’s coach can’t coach, la habra only gets good boys athletes, or if “troy tech” loses in the semis.
and whats all this fuss and commotion with alicia komaki? its like this glass half full person is a stalker. leaving her hints and talking about his admiration for her…i think people like coming on here just to stir it up. Do you really think coaches come on here to see what everyone has to say? Anyone think that they post things?
For me, personally, I just like to come on here to see where Carlos ranks the teams from week to week. Now, I have come on here to see what all these people post. I think this is truly comical.
let me clear the record bone head, I dont appreciate some one using my handle. Carlos how in the bleep does this happen. I mean who is this guy.Ive been praising bryant only to trsh her the next day. and if you check time IM sound a sleep at 10;30pm. well I guess nothing is sacred. and for this idiott to call out and identify me with a school is inflamatory to say the least.to score 32 against the hills is great especially with their big girl angle.doing the same on troy is great to ,didnt see anyone else do it. the league is down? how bout 5 in the play offs poser. and komaki at la habra ?do you know something nobody elsedoes, didnt know there was an opening. troy out by semis, sticking to my guns on that one.so since this handle is being used by someone else ,I guess IM out.
wHAT UP CARLOS. WHAT A MESS huh!!!
cant wait to see regional match up with brea and the monarchs
go brea
might we have a rosary OLU rematch on the way
rosary and olu rematch?
just another clue for the poser or any one like yep who now yhink those coments were mine, I dont capitulize my g,idiot just check past blogs.now can we talk hoops, with nash and thieman and oc coach.
Hey, glass I wouldn’t worry you ruffled some feathers at Troy – probably just the coach as he’s known for going on that other message board too, so don’t worry about it, they wouldn’t be worried about you if you hadn’t hit some nails on the head. The people who talk about all hoops is what counts not just their own.
Glad to see Bryant got in the top ten stars of the week. Sometimes you get tired of the same ole. Everyone knows for example that Lewis is a good player but who wouldn’t be able to put up those numbers on a team like that. They have at least 5 times the teams of players than any other.
Thats why someone like Marinacci is POY as she took a team, no recruits and made it great.
to the real glass half full.
I hope someone is checking the imposter out on the blog. Whether we agree or disagree on a point is fine. I however, want your opinion, not some nutcase who steals your name.
As for the rankings, they are done for now. Final rankings after the playoffs are ok but interim playoff rankings arent important, IMO. I just want to enjoy the games.
Some of the matchups dont make sense, but since CIF doesnt explain a lot on their site I dont expect a lot.
In 1AA will be rooting for SC and Troy, dont give DH a shot past round one. I really want to see a SC v Cajon matchup next Wed. Cajon doesnt press so SC can set up half court offense and I want to see the big girl for SC guard Clarendon.
1A cant see much from OC, maybe MV if KP puts up 30+ a game. She will need Fajardo to get open and the coach should start the freshman big girl Kaiser. If she is open she can hit easy shots from low post. KP is great passer and can get her ball. Even if she cant get open she becomes a concern for the other team that makes KP and Fajardo harder to guard. The other 3 SCL teams dont belong, however, Aliso Niguel did beat LH this year and Ventura is not as strong as last year.
Cant see Esperanza winning more than one game, 2 is a stretch, not impossible but a stretch. Good to see Spinazzee back in lineup, she missed a few games late in season.
2A–MD easy. I have seen Summit,(the next best team in the division) in Santa Barbara in December and last summer at SD. Both times losing to teams they had more talent then. SC beat them in SD and SC was horrid in SD. Buena beat them in SB and Buena beat them with only 2 top girls vs Summits 4. Summit reminds me of Magnolia from last year. Quick transition from D to O off rebounds, and quick in speed. However, they are best on layups vs shooting from outside 10 feet. SC played them into a slow half court game in SD and it worked. Buena out played Summit closer to Summits style. Cant see them come close to MD. I think VP is in this division. I really like B. Salvatore’s game.
2AA–Brea lays over these teams too. Jonae is playing lights out in every big game. Brea wont face anyone close to a FH, Cajon or Hanford in this division. Will root for Edison to go as far as they can. I like their starting 5.
3A–Foothill is in finals and I think they beat either Inglewood or Muir.
3AA– Woodbridge is solid. Not a fan of Marlborough. I think SM will need much better efforts from the support team to make it to semis or finals. They are too inconsistant for me. Looked great in some games and other times looked lost.
Dont follow the lower levels that much but will root for the three trinity teams to play well.
okay glass, i’m sorry that i actually thought it was you. and i apologize for calling you out, even though i don’t think the poser ever said what school you were associated with. For all I know, you could be associated with pretty much any school in the league, you seem to have quite the knowledge of all the teams and their players. also, i didn’t mean to get a rise out of you…i was only stating how this blog gives me some comical relief.
someone said troy’s varsity coach goes on the message boards? whats the point of going on? doesn’t it not matter…from an outsider, i would think that the only people that matter are the players and the administration. who cares what all these other people say or think.
glass, with a lower case g, i wouldn’t say the playoff teams are a good indication of how strong a league is…just look at the servite boys. although they played in the trinity league, ocvarsity had their record at 5-21, and they still made the playoffs. i remember a few years back, the freeway league had some good competition, not sure if they are up to par with the years in the past.
how much does mater dei beat brea by? what makes kiernan so good?
theiman…
I like your breakdown of the divisions…so do you think OC will bring home 5 titles?
to yep
4 or 5
MD
Brea
Foothill
OL
Woodbridge-Maybe
nothing in 1A
nothing in 1AA
Dont follow the divisions 5 and below.
My glass is currently half empty. I just finished drinking half of my spelling and punctuation juice. glass half full, what are you drinkin bro? Obviously not the same stuff I am, but maybe I’m the one who needs your kind of drink. Why so agitated? Speaking of ruffled feathers…seems like you got pretty riled up. Maybe you are associated with Fullerton and your feathers have been unrightfully plucked. Or could you be a coyote, who looks kind of mean, but in reality is scared of everything? And really, is there any need for name calling? As for the use of the word “inflammatory” (spelled with 2 m’s), if I am not mistaken, this word means provocative or stirring. Maybe I’m not giving you enough credit, and you were trying to use it in a very negative connotation. And to answer your question, no sir, I do not know anything that nobody else does. Maybe I was referring to Sonora and am in the know that Ridge is not going to be coaching next year. Maybe that is what I was referring to. Are you not from Sonora? As for no one else scoring that many points against “the hills” and “troy tech” it just proves my point that the league is down. And way to go out on a limb and say that Troy is going to lose in the semi’s…real bold!
Regarding your 2nd post, and your “capitulize” of the letter “g,” maybe the poster “capitAlized” the G on purpose…just some food for thought. On second thought, maybe you don’t need any food for thought, maybe you just need a reality check. Thats just my humble opinion. I’M (there is an apostrophe) OUT!
thanks for the english lesson ,empty,I will keep that in mind.and as for on a limb with troys elimination in semi’s doesent look like I’m alone.as for the rest I’d have to agree with thieman, especially since olu got put in IV which could lead to a trinity rematch with rosary. And since you dont put much value in Bryants Performance ,22pts against troy , why is it no one else could do it against num 4 tem in power rankings.
You are incorrect about Freeway being stronger in years past, if you are going to state that then give facts.
Someone at Troy definitely got agitated as that someone has constantly come on here to pump up their team and no other, and attack glass.
Like your analysis theiman but I’m really disappointed in CIF this year, I think they made a joke out of the divisions, deflated the post season and I question just like Fryer did, what are they doing and without giving any explanations.
The post season has also lost it’s lustre for me – the divisions are a mess, hopefully Carlos and Steve Fryer can push for some answers from CIF – I read somewhere that CIF was becoming NJB and that person may be correct.
maybe cif should go back to last years al large qualification method, although in girls it did come pretty close, unlike boys where servite got in.a new rinkle I think they should consider is the attendance deciding your division. For instance if OLU and rosary are in trinity then they stay in mater die division.does the 3rd place team in sunsetleague in football get placed in D3 playoff to make room for a better at large in pac 5?no so why in basketball? just asking cause dont getit. IF freeway champ is in 1AA then other four should be regardless of how they will compete. Agree could be right. CIF is making it like NJB where if you want to play in post season ,then we will make room ,must be for the god allmighty $$$$$$$
You have that right – CIF is getting too much money for making a mockery of sports, there are some HS principals who keep tweaking eveything for their own benefit, there should be an open division where the teams who clearly recruit are forced to enter, MDS, Breas, Troys etc even JSerra got caught and had to give up their San Diego DI player or face penalties. They should then have to face the Polys, Cajons etc. Some of these teams want to state how good they are and yet don’t want to play the other top recruiting schools as they only care about that paper title.
mater dei and brea should hook up in regionalsso we will get to see kk vs sink finally .my money is on kk. troy well just like pre season wont see an oc school, what a shame. why dont you techys stay home next year and save some money.heard some financial rumblings in the district isnt to distant,so you just might have to.
OG glass: Unfortunately, I can’t control what name people use on this forum and their comments will get through as long as there is no vulgarity. Sorry about that homie.
theiman: Great breakdown. I like Woodbridge in their division. OLu-Rosary semifinals should be very good. SC-Cajon will be a good quarterfinal. Don’t count the Tritons out in that matchup. SC is playing very well right now.
I’ll be out at Mission Viejo-Marina, Jonathan Kay is covering Cabrillo-San Clemente and Tim Burt is covering Garden Grove-Irvine on Thursday night. I’m really looking forward to MV-Marina.
In response to Glass Half Empty; How do you know Sonora’s coach is not coaching next year? When were you privy to this “information”? How reliable is this information? Heard from the coach herself? From assistant coach? Some other third party?
Carlos, I was looking at how the BP oceanview game could look and found some interesting comparisons for both. Bp beat La habra twice by 25pt average and lahabra played westminster tough who played oceanview tough. BP split with sunny hills in league who destroyed 2 of OVs league opponents whom played OV tough. and even though OV is league champ BP has only gotten stronger playin in a other than troy and lahabra, tough freeway. and the key matchup listed in bracketts break down is bryant who hasnt had problems with taller girls in post, yet how did jordan do in league with poly?is it another troy blowout in 1st round? wow!! could BP really have shot at qrt finals?AMAZING!!!!!!
