It’s national signing day, but soccer must go on. Here are some games to follow:
Cypress at Valencia (Empire League, 3 pm)
Cypress enters the match 1-5, the Tigers 5-1. So what’s the big deal? Valencia’s lone league loss was handed to them by the Centurions, 5-3. Valencia is alone in first place, but only by a game over Loara and Katella. The Tigers can’t afford another slip up against Cypress, and are sure to be motivated after their prior loss to them.
Foothill at Woodbridge (Sea View League, 5pm)
Foothill, Woodbridge and El Toro appear to be the playoff teams from this league. But in what order? The Knights are still unbeaten at 4-0-2, while the Warriors are in third place at 3-1-2. The teams could end up tied after today with a Woodbridge victory. There’s a big difference come CIF for a third-place team versus a second-place team.
San Clemente at Mission Viejo (South Coast League, 5pm)
From the looks of the South Coast standings, either the Tritons or Diablos won’t make the playoffs. Mission Viejo (3-3) and San Clemente (2-2-2) are tied in points at 6. The Tritons won the first meeting 3-1, but have struggled since. This game is always intense between these rivals, and today won’t disappoint with the playoffs at stake.

Valencia won today 9-2
revenge is a dish best served cold
I can’t believe that score. Big win for Tigers.
