CONGRATULATIONS TESORO BOYS SOCCER!!
This is the only team unbeaten in the South Coast League thats still not ranked higher than the teams they have already beaten.Monday 26th they Titans dominated the highly thought of San Clemente Tritons 4-0.The Titan goalie (SO) Michael Breslin played an amazing game stopping everything San Clemente had to give. His huge presence is what sparked his teammates to continue their winning roll.(SO)(MF)Bryan Breslin started off the scoring with a penalty kick goal due to a great run by (SR) (F) NIck Boncich. Later in the 2nd half (JR) (MF) Tyler Garcia made an amazing goal from the right far side off the field over the Triton goalie into the left corner of the goal while being taken down by a Triton defender making it 3-0. then (SR)Nick Markham put the nail in the coffin with a great follow up goal late in the 2nd half. (SO) (F) Derek Garcia had a great breakaway at the end of the game almost getting it by the Triton goalie to no avail but his tenacity of pursuit on the play led to Triton goalie to get frustrated and lash out which caused his departure from the remaining minutes left in this amazing Triton defeat after receiving a yellow card.great job TESORO keep up the great job!!
To Tesoro Fan: Perhaps OC Varsity ran out of the allotment of “Tesoro ink” with all of the Titan football coverage? The only recent news item that has surpassed the Servite boys soccer hype was the over the top and way past season coverage of Tesoro football and every player down to the 99th man on the depth chart.
I have to agree that Tesoro is playing with amazing intensity.
Congrats to the goalkeeper who was perfect, along with his defense.
Tesoro won every ball, had very nice skill and good first touches to control their game, they won the midfield, perfect defense, and great finishing.
Come on OC V, they deserve more.

The lurker also known as Mater Dei will have to prove themselves this week.
Running the table would clear a path to the Trinket League title.
Question is – Does MD have the horses to score?
On another note:
NCAA soccer signing period for 2009-2010
starts February 4, 2009 and ends August 1, 2009.
Will OC Varsity cover the recruitment of OC Futbol players as rabidly as they do pointyball (American football).
Remember – the creme of the crop goes first and early (as does the scholarship money!)
All you 2009 chest pounders speak up!
Your silence is deafening!
If anyone knows of any soccer signings please e-mail
Damian Dottore at
ddottore@ocregister.com
thank you
Pundit:
I agree. A giant week for trinity league. Mater Dei has big chance to make big noise.
Pundit – where is your boy AM going after he is done with his Academy play?
