I can not believe what I am reading. Tilton is a coach, not a first year coach with no experience. He been involed with water polo working with Don Stoll for many years. His squads have been tops in leagues for many years. I know any coach who would have been with the ET this year, COULD NOT HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB. Tilton YOU ARE DOING GREAT.

If one reads Dan’s original blog, the penultimate paragraph’s second sentence reads “But Coach Tilton’s might have turned its season around in Coronado.”

I am sure that either “team” or “squad” was inadvertently left out between “Tilton’” and “might,” which would lead one to believe that Dan was NOT giving entire credit to the coach, as “doesntmatter” seems to believe. To say Tilton — or any coach — deserves “none of the credit” for the play of his team is ludicrous.

BTW, it was great seeing you, Dan, in San Diego. Thanks for the coverage! Let’s hope your right about the Chargers’ game at Newport Harbor on Friday.

If Browning was so good, why wasn’t she recognized as an all tournament selection? Does Tilton recommend players? Browning for Player of the Week!

As one of the coaches faced with playing Tilton’s El Toro squad this season, it was clear to me that Tilton had done a tremendous job in prepearing his team to play against each opponent. He has also done well in figuring out what player rotations to use, obviously this has come from experience over the course of the season (his first with these girls). Lastly, he was visibly having a great time coaching his team this weekend – that’s what it’s all about! Great job Matt! Good luck with the rest of your season Chargers.

What makes no sense to me – the coach bashing that is going on in South County.

Tilton paid his dues to get this post and is the man for the job. He is working hard and running his own ship. Give him some time, folks.

The Chargers’ burst of speed was refreshing Saturday night. They was about as fast as I’ve ever seen ET girls look on the counter.

I also have seen Tilton scout Foothill on at least two occasions that his critics probably have no idea about.

If El Toro shows well against Newport on Friday – which I think they will – watch out.

He also has been super high on Browning from the start of the season. This writer overlooked her in the season preview and has felt worse each time I’ve seen her play.

She’s really good.

One insider told me the Chargers weren’t going to be dangerous this season but with Tilton in charge, they have a chance to be.

Agreed. Tilton really needs to start playing the girls who are good at water polo, not the girls who are good at swimming.

Tilton would have had a great season from the begining, but he has been playing the wrong players. Browning was one of the players to look at this year, and he doesn’t even start her. Makes no sense to me.

It was the girls who finally decided to turn the season around. The coach deserves none of the credit.
