Some highlighted games for Thursday:

Kennedy at Pacifica (Empire League, 3 pm)

Bring it on. That about sums up this Empire League battle.

Fighting Irish and Mariners both enter at a perfect 3-0 in league. Kennedy has scored 14 goals in three games, twice netting six. Pacifica has scored 11 goals in its three wins.

The winner – if there is one – becomes the favorite for the league championship. Should be a playoff-like feel in this one.

No. 7 Trabuco Hills at No. 8 Northwood (Sea View League, 3:15pm) * at Meadowood Park

So much on the line. League standings, county rankings and a perfect record. The Timberwolves are 3-0 and in first place of the Sea View. The Mustangs haven’t lost either, but trail in points at 2-0-1.

Is their a hotter team than Northwood right now? A 4-0 start has playoffs written all over it. Trabuco Hills has a chance to cool the TWovles off and leap them in the standings.  Game on.

Sonora at Troy (Freeway League, 3pm)

Overlooked in the Freeway League race, Sonora hasn’t lost in three games. The Raiders are 2-0-1 and are in second place behind Sunny Hills. Troy is 1-1-1 and tied for third with Fullerton.

This is a big game for Sonora, which plays Sunny Hills next. Can the Raiders’ run continue in this one, or does Troy move up in the standings?
