Here are the ones to watch for Tuesday:
No. 1 San Clemente vs. No. 2 Aliso Niguel (South Coast League, 5pm)
Does anything more need to be written than the current rankings of each team? The Tritons beat out the Wolverines last season for the league title.
The teams meet for the first time this season. Aliso Niguel has scored just one goal in three games, and what a better time than to break out.
However, San Clemente has allowed two goals in three games, both coming in their victory over Capistrano Valley last game.
As the standings are concerned, this game is bigger for Aliso Niguel. Another tie doesn’t help the Wolverines gain on the Tritons, who have two victories and a tie.
No. 3 Los Alamitos vs. Marina (Sunset League, 3pm)
The Griffins have won three straight to begin league play and look to continue roll. Marina, which is 2-1, is fighting with Newport Harbor for a playoff spot.
The Vikings can mix up the standings with an upset, and pull into a tie with Los Alamitos for first place. The teams haven’t faced each other yet this season.
University at Beckman (Pacific Coast League, 3:15pm)
The Trojans won their first league game since 2007 by upsetting Corona del Mar. The playoff chase is wide open in this league and this match is a big part of it.
Beckman enters 1-1, while University comes in 1-0-1. The Trojans have a chance to build on their lead with a victory. The Patroits, on the other hand, can move in front of their opponent if they win.
