Facing their toughest league rival on the road, the Mater Dei Monarchs used a timely goal and  hard nosed defense to remain undefeated in Trinity League play.

Mater Dei senior Lindsay Brown scored midway through the first half for the only score of the contest, as No. 7 Mater Dei shutdown No. 9 Santa Margarita 1-0 in a Trinity League game Thursday at Santa Margarita High.

With the win, the Monarchs improve to (9-2-4; 3-0), while the Eagles fall to 7-6-4; 1-1).
