Freshman Lindsey Salcido scored in the second minute of the second 10-minute overtime period to give No. 4 Los Alamitos a 2-1 victory over No. 2 Esperanza on Tuesday evening at Esperanza High.
After taking a corner kick from senior Lauren Ingram, Salcido managed to head the ball into the left corner of the net, giving the Griffins a lead they would not relinquish.
Los Alamitos is now 11-2-4, 2-0, while the Aztecs fall to 13-2-1, 1-1.
