Boys soccer: San Clemente goalie to be out two weeks

January 12th, 2009, 11:39 pm · 3 Comments · posted by ocvarsity

San Clemente goalkeeper Andrew Cuchessi separated his right shoulder during practice last week and is expected to be out at least two weeks, Tritons coach Michael Pronier said.

“It's a big loss,” said Pronier, whose Tritons are 8-3-4 after tying Tesoro, 2-2, on Friday in its South Coast League opener. “Andrew is a definite presence in the box.”

Pronier said sophomore Max Phillips will fill in for Cuchessi, who was injured during practice Thursday.

“Max will do a good job for us. He has a lot of potential. He just needs some experience,” said Pronier.

San Clemente will next play Wednesday at home against Mission Viejo at 5 p.m.  -- Mark Garcia, OCVarsity.com

seperated shoulders don't just heal in 2 weeks, unless it is a real mild slip, but seperation is not something to take lightly- too bad, I've seen him play and he's a very good GK.

Amazing game Max Philips. Congratulations on MVP!

Max saves the PK that could have been the game changer.
He also made 2 other big saves to keep the tritons momentum alive.
