Basketball: Northwood-Woodbridge extracurricular action

January 12th, 2009, 11:19 am · 1 Comment · posted by STEVE FRYER, ocvarsity.com

There apparently was quite a ruckus toward the end of the Northwood-Woodbridge boys basketball game Friday night at Woodbridge, in a Sea View League game. Woodbridge won, 62-48. The report I received: an exchange of elbows led to a player coming off of one bench, and some people in the stands descended upon the court to join in. A couple of player ejections followed. Nobody was hurt, so that means school personnel did their jobs. Woodbridge AD Alan Dugard said he and Dean Toohey, AD at Northwood, were on the spot and helped security maintain order quickly.

Woodbridge’s only football victory of 2008 was against Northwood.

I was there and it was very wild! I student from Northwood actually went out on the court and took a swing at a Woodbridge player. These schools definately do not like each other.
