Santa Margartia at Rosary, Monday, 5:30 p.m.: Second place in the Trinity League could come down to one of these two teams. I'm leaning towards the Eagles because of the Melissa Zornig factor. Zornig is one of the toughest competitors in the county and the players around her are starting to know their roles and play well together.
Woodbridge at Foothill, Tuesday, 7 p.m.: The Knights won't be in a good mood after Saturday's overtime loss to Brea Olinda and Christina Marinacci and Blair Shinoda will be looking to get Foothill back on track in this Sea View League game. The Warriors have a nine-game winning streak and Ashley Ward has turned into a big-time scorer for them. Warriors coach Eric Bangs said his team would have to play a perfect game to beat Foothill. The Knights don;t have to be perfect and they can still win.
Villa Park at Brea Olinda, Tuesday, 5 p.m.: When Brianna Salvatore and the Ballestero sisters, Nicole and Connie, get hot from beyond the arc, they can make the Spartans very dangerous. Even if the Spartans trio gets on a hot streak it will be very hard to upset the Ladycats in this Century League game. Jonae Ervin is playing at a high level, Kelsey Harris appears to have found her shot and Kendall Rodriguez continues to fill up boxscores. That's more than enough for Brea Olinda even if Justine Hartman is still nursing a right knee that is not at 100 percent. I didn't even get to the talented young players the Ladycats have coming off the bench.
Mission Viejo at San Clemente, Tuesday, 7 p.m.: If the Tritons are able to pound away at the Diablos in the low post with 6-2 Cassie Harberts and 6-2 Jacqui Marshall, it could be a long night for Mission Viejo, which cannot match up with San Clemente's size. But the Diablos have Kaitlyn Petersen, who is an absolute gamer. Petersen can score against anybody and if she has a huge game, Mission Viejo could have a shot at upsetting San Clemente in this South Coast League contest.
Marina at Edison, Thursday, 7 p.m.: The Chargers are the favorites in the Sunset League, but the Vikings have had a knack for pulling off upsets in recent years. Edison's Bonnie Samuelson is one of the best pure shooters in the county and Marina's Rita Sitivi is another exciting player to watch.
Rosary at Orange Lutheran, Thursday, 7 p.m.: The Lancers don't have any superstar players, but they play solid defense, they are unselfish and they are undefeated. Put OLu in the race for second place in the Trinity League with Rosary and Santa Margarita.
One other interesting matchup is El Toro vs. Northwood. Both of these teams will be fighting for a playoff spot with HB and Woodbridge, and both teams are playing good ball. Good luck ladies.
Neutral Observer: That's going to be a very competitive game.
