ORANGE COAST LEAGUE PREVIEW

LEAGUE FAVORITE

Laguna Beach: The Breakers have good size and shooting, led by Ryan Lawler and Dylan Roley. Adam Selevan is another Laguna Beach player who is a 3-point shooting threat. Calvary Chapel, as usual, will challenge for the league championship.

PROJECTED LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Ryan Lawler, Laguna Beach: He was all-league first-team last year. Lawler, a 6-foot-4 senior, scored 24 points in a victory over Glendora in the Century Holiday Classic, although he only played three quarters because of foul trouble.

OTHERS TO WATCH

TEAM ON THE RISE

Godinez: A first-year varsity program with no seniors, Godinez has a coach who knows something about winning – Chris Vlasic, who was an All-County forward at Pacifica when the Mariners were a CIF State finalist in the 1990s.

TEAM UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Costa Mesa: The Mustangs were 1-26 last year, and might struggle again this year.
