Chris Zamarippa, the Moncarchs’ most potent scoring threat, will miss four weeks after fracturing an ankle and elbow in the championship match of the Marina Tournament on Dec. 30, Mater Dei coach Andy Thomas said in an e-mail Tuesday morning.
Mater Dei beat Fullerton that day, 3-2, and Zamarippa scored the Monarchs first goal, which tied the game, 1-1.
He left game about midway through the second half, and he spent the remainder of the game sitting on the bench with a big bag of ice wrapped around his left foot.
