The Comanches led, 1-0, at halftime.
Records: Canyon 9-4-1; Foothill 5-7-2
How it looked: Canyon was in total control in the first half. Foothill had one good shot, but nothing else.
The Comanches, however, only managed one goal despite relentless attacks. Canyon coach Walter Camargo told his team at halftime they should have more than one score.
Who scored: Canyon's Taylor Alderete opened the scoring by dribbling down the right side and beating the keeper far post for the 1-0 lead.
Foothill tied it in the 69th minute on a goal from Mary Spiegelberg to make it 1-1.
Canyon received goals from Sarena Granados and Alana Mitchem to close it out. Alderete assisted both.
Up next: Foothill at Huntington Beach, Thu, 3:15 p.m; Canyon at Brea Olinda, Thu, 3 pm
High-five to ...: Canyon's Darien Pyka. The junior defender leaves no doubt as to who is in charge of the backfield. She constantly gets the backfield to push up and does a good job of directing traffic and marking runners.
