Multi-talented La Habra wide out/running back Ronnie Hillman, who has committed to San Diego State, said Wednesday night that he will take an official recruiting trip to Fresno State the weekend of Jan. 9.
The senior also plans to take an official recruiting trip to Colorado State the following weekend.
So is he still committed to the Aztecs?Hillman (5-10, 175) said he is a "soft" commitment because of the coaching change at San Diego State.
He's too good for San Diego State. Where's the Pac 10 schools at ? Don't sleep on this kid.
5-10, 175 ain't too small to play Pac 10 ball. Just ask Desean Jackson who was smaller.
Wow, Saying a kids is too good for a DIV-1 scholarship is really funny......why not just skip college and go PRO?
That's not what I meant.
I'm saying, he's good enough to get more looks/offers from bigger schools. Despite the offer, San Diego St. hasn't play football since Marshall Faulk played there.
I had the pleasure of seeing Washington State's Romeo Pellum (Santa Fe HS) and Arizona's Nicolas Grigsby ( Cal Hi) play in high school. They didn't impress me as being very big. But, boy were they fast and athletic. Ronnie Hillman is a lot like those others.
Next level scouts obviously know what to look for.
Any word on the other LH players that may play at the next level?
Randall Nygren QB/FS, Joe Casey LB, Jake Peppard DE, Willie Mayoral OL.
I was at LH championship Game and NO one besides maybe the Quezada kid has a D-! look,Hillman is to small for his position and CB's are running like gazzells at 6-2 or bigger,Nygren has bad mechanics for QB but speed at a d-2 level maybe, pepard will get beat up in d-1 and is to slow as is the Mayoral kid

The above is an opinion of a wanna be scout (probably an OC fan drinking 'haterade') that can't spell and has bad grammer. Not very credible.
We'll see what happens, soon enough.
I meant grammar.
Watched alot of OC football over the years, and here is the skinny on some of the La Habra players Hillman can and will play for D-1 school may become the best kick returner I think Boise State and there type of turf would suit him this kid runs a 4.3 needs to keep his speed and add 10 to 15 lbs, Nygren maybe can play at the JC level but other than that he will be done Mayoral JC level Peppard will grow more and be able to carry the extra bulk and muscle this kid is a tiger and knows the game might be better suited at outside linebacker but a D-1 school no doubt he could play the kid your missin is Arteaga the safety in all my years I have to rank him as good as any safety Ive had the pleasure to see he can hit he is relentess he wasnt Freeway defensive player of the year with mirrors this kid can play, he just that nose for the ball and is the best run support safety high has seen in a few years does need to work on pass coverage but he is a football player and should have no problem with the work he is quick enough to make up for lack of speed but overall some school should reach out to this PLAYER because he will compete and make his competitors better, as for Casey he may be better suited as a down lineman nose tackle his frame can certainly carry 25 lbs more and he too knows how to compete only question is his desire kinda seems to be a free spirit and as for Quezada stay healthy kid and keep working and we will see him play on Saturdays in a few years at a major U.
