If you put any of these “top 10″ OC Hoops programs against even the Top 100 National teams and they would be schooled.

  • oc hoops says:

well i disagree because mater dei could put a good challenge to the top 100 national teams

  • Landon Taylor says:

except for the fact that Mater Dei is number 1 in the nation acording to USA TODAY and ESPN. oh and even though i hate them, Rivals.com

  • I guess we’ll see how the boys compare from the Florida tournament
    results, eh?
    Hopefully they all do well.

  • Lhhman says:

The drop from Mater Dei to the rest is so far, that OC basketball is one one-trick pony this year – but the pony is outstanding………..
Wear twins a little soft – and I watched Foothill give MD a little trouble for over a half – regardless of the score.

  • Alex says:

Can’t you just put the whole top 10 on the same page? It’s annoying that you need a page for 1-5 and a page for 6-10.

  • spiderman says:

I agree what is the purpose of two pages?

  • victor says:

Lhhman- It doesn’t matter if the Wear twins are a little soft, Mater Dei still has Gary Franklin, Tyler Lamb and Andy Brown (and not to mention plenty of depth on the bench).

The “Florida” touney was completed a week ago and MD beat the team the was ranked between #2 – #6 in the nation. It is nice that you gave them the benefit of consideration.. Boys.. This team should be playing against JUCO teams. Let you all argue who is the second best in the County.

  • Michael says:

‘OC Hoops’ comments posted on 12-29-08 are hilarious. MD just won the toughest tournament in the nation in Florida and are ranked #1 in the nation by USA Today and ESPN. Two starters going to North Carolina, one to Stanford, one to UCLA and one to USC.
To:Lhhman- The Wear twins are not soft…Roy Williams wouldn’t have signed them if they were soft!

There are other OC teams that would be able to compete tough against top nationally rated teams. Isn’t Los Alamitos rated as one of the top teams in the country? It is amusing when one of the top teams take it up-side-the-head by a team that is unheralded. We all have to listen to excuses that attempt to explain the loss. Los Alamitos beat Albany Boys School of NY, and have won impressively over several teams. Don’t discount the OC talent pool! Teams have to play the competition that is on the schedule. The object is to keep winning games.
