By now, you've read my colleagues' lists of their top five playoff moments. I've covered a lot of big games, but sometimes the minutes before and after the games are memorable.
Here is my top (or bottom) five.
Are you in my five?
1. Saturday at Angel Stadium. I have to spend all day with Fryer, Carlos Arias and Chris Tobolski ... this has the potential to be a classic day in OCVarsity history.
2. Oh yeah, I've covered some football, too: My top prime-time players in games that I have covered include: Preston King (is there anything he doesn't do?), the Tesoro offensive wall, I mean line, Anthony Wilkerson (he's only a junior), Robbie Picazo (all he does is win), Scotty Williams (all he does is make catch after catch after catch), Colton Grandbouche (all he does is make plays).
3. Are there coyotes in those hills? I know I heard some howling after the Tesoro-Los Alamitos game back in the first round. I'm not scared of many things, but coyotes are easily in my top 3, right behind clowns and puppets.
4. My trip to La Habra. Sure the journey was smooth going there Wednesday, but the same couldn't be said for the return trip home. I made one wrong turn and ended up in Brea, then Fullerton and finally the 91. The entire trip took an hour. And I live approximately 25 minutes away from La Habra High.
5. The All-county meeting. It is always a highlight and this year's meeting didn't disappoint. Dan Albano is slowly gaining legendary status.
