The much anticipated showdown between top seed and defending champ Brynn Boren and Kristina Smith of Dana Hills and Sabrina Santamaria and Sarah Lee of Campbell Hall ended in 51 minutes, with Lee and Santamaria winning 6-2, 6-0.
Boren and Smith were trying to become the first pair to repeat since 1979, but made history by reaching their third consecutive doubles final.
"They were just too tough," Dolphins coach Mark Spearman said. "I think they made four unforced errors the entire match. I went up to them afterward and told them they should turn pro right now. They would make a lot of money in doubles. They were just amazing."
Said Campbell Hall coach Steve Kuechel, "We were just on today. There isn't anything you can do about it. That was the best tennis I've seen them play. That last set might have been the best set of doubles I've ever seen anyone play."
In singles, Orange Lutheran's Kaitlyn Christian is scheduled to play La Quinta's Pam Montez at 2:45.
