Only two round of playoff games remain before the selection of teams for the CIF State bowl games, which will be played Dec. 19 and 20.
And three Orange County teams are in prime position to grab a spot in one of the games:
Tesoro is in a good spot to claim the Southern California berth in one of two games. If the Titans finish atop the Southern California rankings, they could be selected for the Open Division game against the No. 1 team from Northern California. They also could be the Southern California entry in the Division I game if they win the Pac-5 title and either finish ahead of Centennial of Corona or have Centennial selected for the Open Division game.
Orange Lutheran looks like a lock for the Division II bowl game if the Lancers win the Pac-5 championship, which would mean a second trip in three seasons to the state game for Orange Lutheran.
Finally, St. Margaret’s appears to be two victories away from a berth in the small schools bowl game.
