La Habra winning every way possible

December 1st, 2008, 3:59 pm · 8 Comments · posted by STEVE FRYER, ocvarsity.com

The Highlanders blew out Anaheim, 83-0, in the first round and then were tested by El Dorado in the second round of the Southwest playoffs before taking a 23-14 victory.

Good teams rout the teams they should rout, and figure out a way to win when challenged by the better opponents.

La Habra's Defense also finds a way to slow down and corral opponents' bread and butter, ie., South Hills' Cameron Dean, Westminster's Aaron Garbutt, Fullerton's Michael Allain, El Dorado's Kane Wilson and Sinhjan Hathoot.

The defense have been steadfast all season.

Trabuco Hills will be a great opponent. They are huge all around and are clicking at the right time.

la habra shouldnt even be playing still..
everyone who went to the eldorado game KNOWS that el dorado was a waaaaaayyyy better football team than la habra..and honestly shouldve destroyed la habra, thats the truth..hope theres a rematch next year

  • lhstu says:

wow chees so the two touchdowns that were brought back because of holding dont count for anything?? yes el dorado lost but they played a hell of a game. if they were the better team they would have one.. yes i hope there is a rematch but come on you cant say they should have destroyed la habra because it didnt seem that way. it was an amazing game,, just leave it at that

  • dc says:

Chees bred where were you when La Habras defense was on the field stopping El Dorado down after down?

  • cabo wabo says:

Chees head get your eyes checked la habra dominated tha second half. El Dorado is a good team but the better team won.

  • Jerri says:

I could have sworn the wayyyyyybetter team...El Dorado fumbled TWICE at pivotal game winning moments??? The only problem I had with El Dorado was that they held onto the fooball like it was a
"cheese ball" .....and we alll know you can't win games like that. Now go get some "cheez whiz" and put that on your cracker.

  • willy says:

not to say that El Do was the wayyyyy better team......but, Coach Mazzotta can tell after review of the film that the final "fumble" actually hit the yard marker and came back in play, the refs missed that call. with that said, it was a great game by two championship programs. Expect many more matchups in the future.
