pappy, St. Margaret's has trouble scheduling bigger schools because they don't field three teams (frosh, jv, varsity). They only have a frosh/ soph and a varsity, so most bigger schools, wanting to fill out their schedules, probably say no thanks.

PAPPY
Its a game of "strength of schedule" and a public that beats St. Maggies will not get anything for it, because it was supposed to be ... However, if St. Maggies beats a larger public school, this is a benefit for them in a big way !!

Thanks for setting me straight, tartanpride. Just one question, why wouldn't a public school benefit from playing St. Margarets? Good luck the rest of the playoffs.

PAPPY
Scheduling is a year-to-year process to create partnerships with other schools who will benefit from playing you ... Many public schools will not want to play us as they would not benefit from a victory ... The Tartans are always looking to schedule a program that will hopefully create some level of challenge and long term growth ... The 2007 schedule was actually a challenge as they took-on a number of the Northeast Division's best week after week ... In the small school world, programs ride the wave of (good-bad and ugly) because of the enrollment factor ...

Remember that the Tartans have had three different head coaches over the past four years ... Welch is committed to creating some stability with this program and the benefits will be seen in years to come !!

Hey tartanpride, congrats to St. Margarets on its impending record of most consecutive victories. I just read that Tartans scheduled a real tough game against a San Diego small school power for next season. Fantastic! St. Margarets should do more of this. I know that you have to play whose in front of you, but the competition has been a little bit less than stiff the past few years. How about playing a lower mid-level public high school? I'm sure your boys want to know just how good they really are. Just a thought.

As I have said many a time, the rankings "do not" drive these young men, its their team, friends and family that mean most to them ... They will be just fine without the support of one lone reporter ... The Tartans have been on an amazing run these past four years and we hope it will continue on this Friday night ........... They are truly living in "rare air" within TARTAN COUNTRY and that's all they care about !!

QUESTION:
Has Mr. Fryer attended a St. Margaret's game in the last four years ...? Many invitations have been given over the years; however, I have never heard of him attending a single game ... A rumor has it that he had issues with a former Tartan parent, who was his (former Register boss), I guess they did not see eye-to-eye ...? He is finally gone now, so come on over Mr. Fryer and enjoy a Tartan game, we won't bite you !! You may just like us and schedule us into calender from time to time ... Please don't judge us based on a "head case" who you used to work for ......... We'll even reserve a parking spot for you as we do for our (#1 Register guy-Dan Albano) ... All we ask for is some positive press that encourages our young athletes ......... TARTAN PRIDE !!

Did you ever think that maybe Santa Margarita was over rated this year. Foothill wouldn't beat Dana. It must sting being so close, but yet so far.

Mr. Fryer: Your so called rankings is a JOKE! Do the rankings really matter during the playoffs anymore. There is NO WAY that Dana Hills who didn't make the playoffs remain highly rank in your list while Foothill who happens to be a League Champion and who beat St. Margarita during the season ended up dropping on your list.

Obviously, your list won't matter! This list IS a JOKE!

We just need to keep Pacifica's offense from catching any sort of rhythm. That means keeping them off the field for a long period of time by having our offense play keep away. And not letting Brannon & Huizar get on any type of a hot streak.

While their defense did shut down Foothills running game. Foothill's offensive strength was never the running game. And Pacifica has shown signs of faltering to strong run dominate teams during the season. So Tustin should do well against their defense.

So run the ball, kill time, wear down Pacifica's D, keep Brannon & Huizar from being/making any sort of impact & we should be alright.

First to 21, wins. Good luck to both teams.

But you promised us St. Margaret's was No. 25 and was going to stay there! The Tartans haven't lost. How do you drop out of the poll when you're undefeated? Good thing the Tartans don't need your endorsement to keep playing hard. They will.
