Ocean View’s Katie and Melissa Cecil are through Round 3, defeating St. Margaret’s Hanna Hess and Hayley Miller 6-3, 7-6 (3).

Peninsula’s Jenna Glimp and Anna Tatsuno knocked CdM’s Karen Ishii and Keeli Feeley out, winning 6-3, 6-4. The Sea Queens, currently ranked No. 1 in the county, had both doubles eliminated today.

More Sea Queen trouble: singles player Melissa Matsuoka trails, 4-6, to Ocean View’s Tiffany Mai. They just began the second set.

Estancia’s Eleanor Edles won her first set, 6-4, over Sage Hill’s Julia Blakeley.

Beckman’s Megan Heneghan advanced. She beat Laguna Beach’s Alex Tachovsky, 6-0, 6-4.

“Today is the only tournament where we play 3 matches,” Heneghan said. “The players keep getting tougher too. All that makes it hard.”
