La Habra puts up a 83-0 whooping on Anaheim and not a damn thing. Tustin puts up 76 on Magnolia and this site is about to crash because it can't handle the wave of bashers! Miller did almost the same exact thing that Mazzotta did. Clear the bench and let every single kid get a piece of the action. The only thing Miller didn't do was pass the ball when the game was out of reach. La Habra threw to score the 69th point of the night. Anyone have a problem with that ? ...
As for the question & the choices of answers.
1) Yes. Just without the passing. Just run the ball straight up the middle and run the clock out.
2) No. What good does playing the starters only in the first quarter do ? Nothing. They'll go into the next game ready to play a Quarter. That can't be good, especially if the opposing team's starters played a entire half to 3 quarters. Or God forbid, an entire game.
3) No. The reserves bust their asses in practice as much as the starters do. You gonna award them by letting him/them take a knee on every snap of the 2nd half ? Nooooooooo.
4) Yes. They earned it. But I'd keep the play calling conservative. Dives straight up the middle on every play til the clock hits zero. If the 4th or 5th or 6th string kid breaks through on the other teams starting Defense. What can I do ? Go make the tackle myself that the starting D failed to do ? Ha!
The reason there's not near the uproar over La Habra putting up 83 as there was Tustin putting up 76 is because of the way it was done and also because of the reputation Coach Miller has built for himself over the years a reputation he loves and deserves as being a mean spirited coach who has no respect for and couldn't care less about the other team, La Habra does not have that reputation, also La Habra did not have there starters on the field in the 4th qtr as Tustin did and La Habra did not run a play as time expired and score another TD as Tustin did,you can't really compare the games or the teams and certainly not the coaches as one has class and one does not , stop trying to defend a guy who does not deserve it, i mean please to hear Coach Miller try to explain his why he left his starters in was a joke, clear your bench as soon as you're up by 5 td's and let everyone play, you can run your normal offense as it's the other teams job to stop it,don't run gadget plays or long passes and try to keep the clock running which the CIF should give the coaches an option to do if the game is out of control, you're going to have blowouts like this in 1st round games as you have some very good league champions playing some very weak 3rd place teams and at large teams, Anaheim had no business even being on the field with La Habra but because they were the only at large eligible team in this division do to there very weak non league schedule they got in,heck they went 2-3 in the weakest league in this division, CIF needs to look into that rule as there were about 6-7 teams better than Anaheim in this division that didn't make the playoffs because they played much better teams than Anaheim did.
Yah that's overlook the 52-7 & 62-0 scores that La Habra put up during the season. Or the 56 - 13, 62-7, 56-0, 52-9, 55-7 or 59 - 14 from last season. Hell, I bet there's more of the same if you go further back. You just need to look towards La Habra more often.
And "the way it was done" ? Are you kidding me !? Did you not read the part of throwing a TD pass to score the 69th point of the night ? I guess Tustin should be in shotgun formation & throwing it into the heavens the next time they're up 62-0.
Last I checked. Every kid on the Tustin sideline played that night. Farley doesn't start. Johnny Lopez doesn't start. Webb starts, but it was his 4th carry of the night. Who'd thought he'd break it for 50 plus. The only starters who play throughout the entire game on offense was the offensive line. Which, like every year at Tustin, only has 7-8 guys.
Let's compare the amount of action the starting backfields for both teams had that night.
Country, nobody cares about your statistics, Tustin is Tustin and Miller is Miller, you can't defend them cuz there's no defense for them, i'm glad you are a fan and feel the need to try to defend them but you just look silly in doing so, learn the game it's not just statistics that make the game, it's sportsmanship and having respect for your opponent and those are two things Miller and company soarly lack, and don't try to compare La Habra and Tustin cuz you can't, two different schools in different leagues with different histories, let's just focus on Tustin for now and not try to drag others into there abyss.
They should care because it shows that the Tustin starters were held back. Is that not sportsmanship ? Is that not showing compassion to the defeated team ?
I guess coach Miller has softened up over the years because a few years ago he would have went for 2 after every touchdown just to run the score up that much more, at least he let his kicker kick this time, just to be clear here as i have a feeling some of your reading comprehension skills are not to high and yes Country that means you, i had no problem at all with the first 10 touchdowns Tustin scored as i was at the game and most were scored on long runs after only 2-3 downs, the problem was with the 11th t.d. which was scored as time expired and the Magnolia players where standing there wondering what just happened, just take a knee period, no need for anything else to take place there, had they just taken a knee you wouldn't be hearing anything about that game except how good Tustin played which is what most coaches want the topic of discussion to be when there team is involved, unfortunatly for you and other Tustin fans your coach would prefer the discussion to be about him and his arrogant way of doing things, you know if he didn't go out of his way to embarass his opponents every chance he gets he would actually be thought of as a top notch coach in the area and the #1 guy on how to teach the Wing-T offense maybe in the state, but instead he does stupid things like run a play when you're up by 44 points as the clock expires, just dumb, and unfortunatly for him and Tustin fans that is the legacy he will be remembered for instead of being thought of as a coach of a top flight program that played hard every week and always respected the other team,i have no problems with any Tustin player and actually hope Wilkerson goes to UCLA as i am a fan and would like to see the young man help that program out, it's the way your coach does things that i and many many others in the area have problems with, good luck to all and keep it clean, looks like a La Habra-Tustin Final is coming our way.
- "just to be clear here as i have a feeling some of your reading comprehension skills are not to high and yes Country that means you"
Aww ......
- "the problem was with the 11th t.d. which was scored as time expired and the Magnolia players where standing there wondering what just happened"
The 11th TD scored by a kid getting his 2nd carry of the year on the starting defense ? A play that was a run up the middle ? One that could've, should've ended in the starting D making the tackle but didn't ?
And before you hit me with "why didn't he get his carries earlier in the 4th." He got his licks on defense as most of the kids did because of the limited offensive opportunity that Tustin had that night. 37 - 66.
- "had they just taken a knee you wouldn’t be hearing anything about that game except how good Tustin played "
How about If the kid had been tackled. Then what ? Same as now or different reaction?
- "unfortunatly for you and other Tustin fans your coach would prefer the discussion to be about him and his arrogant way of doing things"
People like you keep it about him.
- "but instead he does stupid things like run a play when you’re up by 44 points as the clock expires"
Again, if the kid had been tackled, then what ?
- "actually hope Wilkerson goes to UCLA"
I know his older brothers loves UCLA. So I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped on their offer. I just hope the offensive line gets better by the time he gets there.
- "looks like a La Habra-Tustin Final is coming our way"
I actually have a Fullerton v. La Habra final. =) Everyone's buying into LH v. THS final because both put up basketball scores in the first round. They forget it was against Magnolia & Anaheim, who both belong to a league (with the exception of Western) that has no business being in the Southwest. I'm a strong believer in the old saying, ""Offense wins games, defense wins championships." And right now, Fullerton has the best defense on this side of the bracket. But La Habra has the best defense throughout the division so they'll take it in the final.
It looks like La Habra barely covered the spread, just like Tustin.
Los: That's why I thought you got upset with Tustin on Thursday. I thought you lost your side bet with Fryer over the spread of that one.
What the hell ?
Where's the uproar ?

Interesting, no ?

Tell that to the guy who made this blog question.
Country,,,,,,CHILL-OUT, man. Listen to Empire Fan he makes perfect sense. Mazzotta is a class act. His reputation speaks for itself.
